Most mornings don't feel sacred. The alarm goes off into the same room, the same to-do list, the same worries you fell asleep holding. Yesterday's frustrations are still there waiting, and the day ahead looks an awful lot like the one before it. If you've ever wondered where God is in the plain repetition of an ordinary week, you are in good company — and there's an old line written by someone who felt the weight of it more than most.
The book of Lamentations is not a cheerful place. It was written in the rubble of a city that had lost nearly everything. And yet, right in the middle of all that grief, the writer says something almost stubborn in its hope:
"It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness."
— Lamentations 3:22-23 (KJV)
Read that again slowly. Not "his mercies are new on the good mornings." Not "new when you've earned it" or "new when you finally have your act together." New every morning. Before you've prayed a word, before you've fixed anything, before the coffee. The slate isn't gray from yesterday's failures. It's clean.
Mercy that doesn't run out
There's a quiet relief hidden in that promise, and it's easy to miss. We tend to ration grace the way we ration everything else — carefully, as if there's only so much to go around and we'd better not waste today's allotment on something small. But the verse says God's compassions "fail not." They don't thin out. They don't get tired of you. The supply is made fresh while you sleep, and it's waiting at the start of every single day, including the dull ones, including the ones you'd rather skip.
That changes how you can hold a Tuesday. The ordinary day isn't a gap between the meaningful moments — it's the very place this mercy keeps showing up. You don't have to wait for a mountaintop. You just have to wake up.
A reminder you can carry
This is the kind of truth that's easy to nod along to on Sunday and hard to remember by Wednesday afternoon. That's a big part of why we make what we make.
Hallowed Supply Co. exists for everyday faith — quality, daily-wearable pieces with quiet, Christ-centered designs. Not loud statement merch. Just the things you'd actually reach for on a normal morning, that happen to carry a reminder close to the skin. A heavyweight crewneck. A soft, garment-dyed tee in a color that goes with everything you already own. Some of our pieces carry Scripture, set word-for-word in the King James Version; others carry no words at all, only the mark and the meaning behind it.
We're not claiming a shirt will change your life. It won't. But there's something steadying about a small, plain object that points past itself — a thread of remembrance for the moment you're rushing out the door and forgetting, again, how loved you already are. The mercy was new this morning whether you noticed it or not. The reminder just helps you notice.
Great is thy faithfulness
That last phrase is worth sitting with: great is thy faithfulness. The faithfulness isn't yours to manufacture. You will have mornings you handle badly. You'll lose your patience, drop the ball, wake up discouraged. None of it exhausts the supply. The compassions are new again tomorrow — not because you're consistent, but because He is.
So whatever kind of week it's been, here's the hope we'd leave you with: tomorrow morning, before you've done anything to deserve it, grace will be sitting there waiting for you. New. Again. Like it always is.
